Texting and Driving

Why do people do something routinely that could kill them and result in the death of other people?

Why do we text and drive?

It is perhaps the most dangerous form of multitasking that exists. And yet you will see multiple times just about every time you go outside where there are cars.

Is something so urgent we have to be on our phones? Rarely if ever.

Are we doing it because everyone else does it?

Are we doing it because our phones allow us to do it?

I explore some of these questions and thought in this short video and at greater length in my book.

The bottom line is that we don’t have to do something just because everyone else does it, or because we can. We can choose to pay attention and arrive safely.
